Reinforced concrete mat foundation for an entire rolling mill, electrical motor room, coiler area and coil storage area was designed using “STAAD-III” plate elements as well as the “PCA Mat” program. The multi story massive concrete structure footing was subjected to large dynamic loads imposed by hot strip mill stands. The SDI Mini Mill is now in operation.
